British Desperation for a Home Grown Winner

At this time of year, there are a plethora of world renowned sporting events, taking place here in the UK. Last week it was the tennis at Wimbledon, this weekend it is the Formula 1 British Grand Prix and next week the Open golf championship gets under way.

I got to thinking today about the British yearning for its home grown sportsmen and women to win. From the Murray craziness at Wimbledon to Hamilton and Button at Silverstone, to any number of potential hopefuls at Royal St Georges.

 Wimbledon has gone, but will a Brit win elsewhere?
